"Nailing It!" Workshop
In this 3-week workshop, our ABT Team works with participants to take their ABTs and use them to create a 5-minute PowerPoint presentation about a work or research project. While participation is largely booked by organizations, we also welcome interest and do run rounds open to the public for individuals to register. To be notified of open rounds of the course, you can sign up to our newsletter.
We welcome two levels of student:
• Participants: These students will each provide their own ABT from which they will craft their 5-minute presentation and are invited to attend all sessions
• Builders: These students are invited to attend and audit all group sessions. They're also encouraged to offer feedback in the session Chat to assist in strengthening the narratives of Participant ABTs and presentations.
Course Breakdown:
• Introduction: An intro lecture in which we cover the basics of narrative structure.
• Workshop: Our ABT Team will guide each participant in individual sessions along each step of the process:
• Narrative Gym: A large group brainstorming session in which we hone a participant's narrative.
• Slide Dissection: We take an ABT approach to the participant's slides and provide feedback to help them focus and clarify their narrative.
• Polish (optional): We continue to help participants polish their presentation as needed.
• Showcase: Concludes with a Showcase in which each participant will present their 5-minute lecture, either live or with a recording.
